What is New Kent Art?
New Kent Art is the brainchild of local artists Brian Hodgson and Karen H King - to open a new, intimate fine art gallery space in Broadstairs.
"After years of struggling to find affordable gallery space to exhibit our own work and realizing that many of our fellow artists experienced the same frustrations, we decided to try to set up a new gallery space in our beautiful town of Broadstairs.
We held a joint 'Open Studio' in 2016 and formulated our plan over many cups of tea and lemon drizzle cakes. It became apparent that we could work well together and create a space that we and other artists could use.
When the opportunity to take on the lease of a small unit right in the heart of Broadstairs arose, just yards from the seafront and harbour, we grabbed the bull by the horns and here we are!
When you live in such an inspiring place, you realise how many other artists are all around you and the creative vibe is growing in Thanet and Kent.
New Kent Art will be a valuable addition to the already flourishing cultural and creative mix that residents and visitors to Broadstairs can enjoy!"
