What is New Kent Art Gallery & Studio?

New Kent Art Gallery & Studio is a new, intimate gallery space in the heart of Broadstairs that showcases local artists and is available to hire by artists or collaborative groups.


We also hold several 'Open Exhibitions' throughout the year and will be posting full details on the website as they approach.


The owner-curators are both artists in their own right and will be using some of the gallery as a working space whilst running the gallery on a day to day basis. We hang, staff and run the gallery during each exhibition and assist the visiting artists with their exhibtion process.

How many paintings should I bring?

Our gallery is approximately 8 feet wide by 29 feet long and has 3 large windows and excellent lighting. We use a hanging system that enables us to hang your exhibition professionally and swiftly, making exhibition changeovers simple and stress-free.


As a guide we would suggest around 10 large (3'width)  or 40 small canvasses, but any excess work can be put onto our online gallery or held as replacement pieces once work has sold. You may also bring cards and small gifts to sell. We recommend you pop in to say hello and chat about your hanging options with us prior to your exhibition.

How do I book an exhibition slot?


If you are an artist or group of artists, you can hire our gallery space for a fortnight, month (or a week by arrangement).


We ask you to give us a call or download a booking enquiry form expressing your interest and a preference for a date.

If the date you would like is available, we will send you a full booking form to fill in and return to us, complete with the required deposit.

What is your cancellation policy

Once you have booked an exhibition slot and paid your non-refundable deposit, your place will be reserved and in the diary. You must pay the balance of your booking payment one week before your exhibition date. Should you wish to cancel your booking and we cannot find a replacement artist for that week, the following applies:-


1 month or less prior to Exhibition date - 50% of full fee payable

1 week or less prior to Exhibition date - payment in full


We will always do our very best to find a replacement as we would prefer our gallery to always be looking at its best and never have empty slots so please contact us as early as possible if you believe you may have to cancel.
